100 Per Cent Of So-called Unknown Gunmen Are Igbos – Soludo

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

A hundred per cent of so-called unknown gunmen making life unbearable security-wise in the South East are Igbos.

This was the verdict of Anambra State governor, Professor Charles Soludo, during Channels TV popular programme, Sunday Politics anchored by Seun Okinbaloye, on Sunday.

Soludo, who marked his six months in office as governor on Saturday September 17, 2022, described the perpetrators as pure criminals who must be taken out by all means.

He said the insecurity in the state, which he claimed has nosedived in the last three months, was not only lucrative, but pure criminality and idolatry.

“They’re criminals. They’re unknown to the extent that they’re not caught.

“They’re not members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB) because they (IPoB) have severally disowned them.

“Anambra is not safe for them. We’re desimating them. 100 per cent of the unknown gunmen are Igbos.

“But quite a chunk are influx from other South East states. The first 100 per cent Igbo we caught, none of them was from Anambra.

“Some youths in the bush were initiated into it in the bush. Anybody in a bush with a gun is a criminal.

“We’re desimating them together with their native doctors preparing charms from them. They’re known.

“The people know them. People are now coming forward with info about them,” the former Governor of the Nigerian Central Bank, noted.

Concerning the coming 2023 general elections, Prof Soludo claimed the state ranked among first 10 most secure states in the country.

“2023 elections will happen in the state. We’re preparing for next year’s census.

“The over two million persons in the state will be voting. The few criminals cannot define us. They’re infinitesimal,” he noted.

He, however, wished Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate and other presidential candidates the best of luck,

When speaking on the poll in which Obi was declared as the leading presidential candidate, Soludo wished it away saying,
“The poll isn’t the reality. I wish that’s the reality.”
