THE Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL) has welcomed the courageous removal of fuel subsidy by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Stonix News reports that President Tinubu had announced during his inaugural speech after taking the oath of office at the Eagle Square, Abuja, on Monday, mooted the discontinuation of the fuel subsidy regime on premium motor spirit (PMS).
The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of NNPCL, Mele Kyari, while reacting, noted that the removal of the subsidy, which has been a burden on NNPC’s cash flow, will free up funds to enable optimal operations in the company.
Reacting to scarcity already being experienced, he assured Nigerians of sufficient supply of the product.
He added that NNPC is also monitoring all its distribution networks to ensure compliance.
