By Following the brouhaha generated by the online Christian dating platform for mature Christian singles created by the Pastor Idowu Iluyomade-led City of David, the leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG), has intervened.
Stonix News exclusively gathered late Friday that the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, who appeared not earlier in the know of the dating site, has directed the National Overseer, Pastor Joseph Obayemi, to swiftly weigh in.
A senior pastor of the mission, who sought anonymity, and who’s close to the leadership of the mission made the disclosure.
When asked if Pastor Adeboye was aware of the development, he said “I don’t think so. But National Overseer (NO) has been asked to look into it.
“If you get to know Baba (Adeboye) well, he gives you a task and allows you to act with minimal oversight.
“Now his attention has just been drawn to this,” he noted.
Recall that the traditional and social media have been awash with news that the City of David Parish of RCCG in Lagos, has launched an online dating site exclusively for Christian singles.
This is believed to be intended to stem the ugly tide of marital delay and enhance sustainable interaction in finding life partners.
The launched online dating site, exclusively for mature Christian singles, is RedeemersConnect.org.
Pastor of the RCCG parish and Intercontinental Overseer, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, had said that the platform would enable singles to interact and find their life partners.
He was quoted as saying that “When a single lady or young man registers on the site, the information would still have to be processed before approval.
“Redeemers Connect is exclusively for Christian singles, widows, widowers, and unmarried seniors in the RCCG global family with serious intent to get married within a year or two upon enlisting as a member.
“Our ‘connect to court” matchmaking algorithm has been carefully designed to take your preferences into account.
“We encourage honest and genuine responses so that we can match your preferences in the most accurate manner.”
