A yet-to-be identified 46-year-old man has reportedly lost his life in a drinking competition with a friend in Sapele, Delta State.
The deceased was reported to have met his untimely death in an undisclosed area within the timber-town.
Sources said the drunk was notorious for the production of counterfeit beverages and multiple encounters with law enforcement agencies.
After the excessive intake of alcohol, the man was said to have collapsed and rushed to a private hospital where he gave up the ghost after doctors battled to save his life.
Sources said that was not the deceased’s first time of engaging in lethal games like drinking contest, as he was reputed for boasting to be immune to effects of alcohol.
No official statement has followed the incident as of the time of filing the report.
