Amid Excruciating Poverty in Nigeria, Pastor Suleiman’s Church Member In Dubai Returns N12m Client Forgot In His Taxi

In spite of the biting hunger and poverty back home in Nigeria, a Nigerian and member of Omega Fire Ministries, has returned 100, 000 Dirhams (equivalent of N12 million) a client forgot in his taxi in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The cheering news was published in the church’s Facebook handle.

The taxi driver, identified as Abraham Airaodion, was said to have discovered that the passenger (whose identity was not disclosed) had forgotten the huge money in his taxi and decided to trace the owner and return the money.

Airaodion attends Omega Fire Ministry in Dubai with headquarters in Auchi, Edo State, which General Overseer is the youthful Pastor Johnson Suleiman.

Abraham, who works with Sharjah Taxi Cooperation, was, therefore, honoured by the organization on Monday, December 13, 2021 for doing the unusual as a Nigerian.

He was issued a certificate of integrity and appreciation which he brought to church to testify of being a good ambassador of Christ, the church and Nigeria.

Nigeria’s situation has lived to being touted as one of the highest-ranking countries in global corruption index.

According to tradingeconomics.com, “Corruption Rank in Nigeria increased to 149 in 2020 from 146 in 2019.”

The country, though with enormous human and natural resources, still ranks high in the global poverty index as of 2020, with hyper inflation plaguing the entire country in the last six years.

While Nigeria’s poverty profile for 2021 has not yet been released, it is estimated that the number of poor people will increase to 90 million, or 45 per cent of the population, by 2022.

“If the World Bank’s income poverty threshold of $3.20 per day is used, Nigeria’s poverty rate is 71 per cent,” says The Conversation.
