PASTOR (Mrs) Denise Yetunde Adurokiya has been laid to rest at the African Church Cemetery, Oke Itunu, Mokola, Ibadan, Oyo State, amid tears and glowing tributes.
Denise, a princess from the Obasoyin dynasty of Ile-Olukere, the royal throne of Ikere-Ekiti in Ekiti State, will be deeply missed.
The well-attended Burial Church Service, which started at 10:00a.m, took place at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Peculiar Peoples Parish, Oyo Province 18 Headquarters, Agbowo, Ibadan.
The ministers, who officiated the service included Pastor Bamidele Adeniji (PICP), Pastor Peter Olatunbosun (APICP ADMIN), Pastor Idowu Taiwo (APICP CSR), Pastor Samuel Kayode, Pastor Toyin Okesanjo, Pastor Olumide Ogunrinde, and Pastor Adebiyi Oje, among others.
The Bible Reading for the service, taken from 1Thessalonians 4: 13–18, was read by Pastor Kunle Faramade. This was followed by the Profile of the deceased, Pastor (Mrs) Denise Yetunde Adurokiya, which was fluently read by Nurse OoreOluwa Bankole, who, incidentally, was the deceased’s little bride maid during her wedding with her heartthrob on October 21, 2006.
Delivering his message to the gathering, Pastor Olatunbosun threw out five pertinent questions that required deep cogitation. He asked: “How old are you? You should the following: Life is a lease, life is a gift, and you should know the Giver. Life is about donation not about duration.
“Whose turn is the next? Luke 16:19-31. Hebrew 9:27.
“How prepared are you to meet with the Lord? You don’t stumble on heaven, but for those who prepare for it.
“Is there any benefit in attending a programme like this? We learn more at funerals. Death reminds us that we’re all mortals.
“What records will heaven bear about you or what testimonies will heaven give about you?”
Dignitaries from far and near and all works of life were at the funeral service. They included the Editors of the Tribune Titles: Debo Abdulai, Sina Oladeinde and Dr Lasisi Olagunju and other senior members of the Nigerian Tribune Newspaper.
Top officers of the University of Ibadan Post Graduate College (PGC), led by Mrs Adeyinka and others, where Mrs Adurokiya was a staff, also graced the occasion in their number.
In addition, several present and alumni members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Oasis of Life (Special Parish), Agbowo, House of Favour Area and Glorious People’s Sanctuary (GPS) were all in attendance.
In an appreciation note, her husband, Mr Ebenezer Adurokiya, expressed gratitude for the support shown during the burial.
He described the event as “a dignified and heartfelt event, honouring her remarkable legacy.”

With seamless organization and a strong community presence, the ceremony blended solemnity and celebration, reflecting the deep respect she inspired and preserved her memory in the hearts of all who attended.
“On behalf of the Obasoyin and Adurokiya families, thank you all for your support. Safe trip back to your destinations in Jesus’ mighty name,” he wrote.
The wife of chief publisher of award-winning Stonix News is survived by her husband, daughter, siblings, relatives, and well-wishers.
May her soul continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord.
