FOLLOWING the biting fuel scarcity across Nigeria, an oil-producing country, angry youths, rights activists, motorists and traders, on Wednesday, stormed Asaba, the Delta State capital in protest, obstructing vehicular movement.
The protesters barricaded the popular Onitsha/Asaba expressway demanding bank managers in the state be sanctioned for allegedly hoarding the new naira notes.

They also requested President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to prevail on the fuel marketers and filling station operators to reduce the cost of PMS per litre.
The protest was led by the Ethiope ADC House of Reps candidate, Comrade Ukuanovwe, Odimbu, perhaps taking a cue from similar protest that grounded Benin City on Monday.
The Asaba protesters, who were armed with placards with inscriptions speaking to the hardships in the country, vowed not to relent until the relevant authorities did the needful.
Stonix News reports that for the better part of Wednesday, business activities were paralysed as gridlock held sway on the highway with travellers and motorists frustrated.
