B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G: Tajudeen Abass Is New Speaker Of Nigeria”s House Of Reps

HONOURABLE Tajudeen Abass, the anointed candidate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has emerged Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives.

Hr polled 353 of the total 359 votes cast while Jaji and Wase polled three votes each during a voice vote adopted by the house.

A member of the House of Representatives from Zaria Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, Tajudeen Abbas has been sworn in.

Also, Honourable Benjamin Kalu has emerged as the new Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives unopposed.

Stonix News reports that the method of election, which was by voice vote, was prescribed by the 10th Edition of the Standing Order.

The first nomination was made by the immediate past Majority Leader, Hon. Alhassan Ado-Doguwa.

Pursuant to Order 2(2, 3 and 4) of the Standing Order, he nominated Hon. Tajudeen Abbas (APC-Kaduna).

He explained that the nominee has the Parliamentary experience, competence and has the capacity to relate with other arms of government to preside over the 10th Assembly.
