Delta PDP Bleeds As Reyieneju Quits Party

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

FEW weeks to the 2023 general elections, a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Daniel Reyieneju, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State.

Reyenieju, it will be recalled, represented the Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019.

The Itsekiri dude announced his resignation via a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists in Warri, Delta State, on Monday evening.

The former lawmaker was, however, silent on his next line of action, politically.

In his letter of resignation addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ogheye Ward 1 in Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State, Reyenieju prayed to God to “intervene in the affairs of Delta State, since man has deliberately and consistently failed to make the right decisions.”

The statement reads in part:

“It is with a deep sense of responsibility that I tender my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

“My time with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) exposed me to various democratic experiences, from electoral VICTORIES to LOSES.

“But whatever I come out with, I ensure not to be carried away or give up in despair – I soldier on.

“I am particularly appreciative to the party for creating a platform upon which I had won 3 consecutive elections to the Federal House of Representatives and for the unending friendships we created along the way.

“I thank you for the recognition and support accorded me whilst a member of the PDP.

“It is my earnest wish and prayer that God Almighty intervene in the affairs of Delta State, since man has deliberately and consistently failed to make the right decisions.”
