ELEME’S 10th Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a vote of confidence in the Executive Chairman, Chief Brain Ajuri’ebie Gokpa, lauding his remarkable accomplishments during his first 100 days in office.

Led by Rt. Hon. Gberewa Sanwi, the Assembly commended Chief Gokpa’s efforts in infrastructure development, electricity improvements, and youth empowerment.

During a plenary session, the Assembly Leader highlighted key achievements, including the completion of the 400-metre Nyade Road in Aleto and the simultaneous commencement of construction for the council secretariat and staff quarters.
The chairman also facilitated the donation of four transformers—two for Nyade and two for Onne communities—to improve electricity supply.
The Assembly noted the council’s collaboration with First Independent Power and New Hampshire Company on the Eleme Gas Turbine Project, ensuring steady electricity for residents.
Additionally, Chief Gokpa inaugurated the Eleme Youth Council, providing an 18-seater bus and a fully furnished office for the 10th Legislative Assembly.
Acknowledging these achievements, Rt. Hon. Gberewa Sanwi proposed a congratulatory message to the chairman, encouraging him to prioritise human capital development by engaging companies like Indorama Petrochemical and others in Onne to create jobs and economic opportunities.
The motion for the vote of confidence was moved by Chief Whip Hon. Humphrey Dada Obelley of Alesa Ward 1 and seconded by Hon. Samuel Saka of Alode Ward 2. Other councillors, including Hon. Ollornwi of Ebubu Ward 4 and Hon. Victor of Akpajo Ward 9, expressed their admiration and support.
The lawmakers later visited the chairman’s office to reaffirm their allegiance and encourage him to deliver further democratic dividends to Eleme.
In response, Chief Brain Gokpa assured the Assembly of his unwavering support for the legislative arm, enabling them to perform their duties effectively. Filled with joy, he urged the lawmakers to pass laws promoting peace, unity, and development within Eleme Local Government Area.
