Enugu Boosts Surveillance Power As Gov Mbah Unveils High-Tech Security Drones

ENUGU State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, has unveiled two high-tech impact drones designed to enhance the fight against violent crime through advanced surveillance technology.

The drones, procured by the Enugu State Security Trust Fund, are capable of identifying, tracking and capturing criminal elements across the state.

The unveiling ceremony took place on Monday at the Command and Control Centre, Government House, Enugu, where the governor also presented 10 security Hilux vans, 40 motorbikes and 400 bullet-proof helmets and jackets.

Governor Mbah commended the State Security Trust Fund for the milestone but expressed dissatisfaction with the number of drones and vehicles acquired, urging the team to expand their procurement efforts.

Reiterating that security remains a top priority for his administration, Mbah stated that violent crimes in Enugu have reduced by more than 80 per cent.

He added that the state’s investment in a safe-city security system would be further strengthened by the newly acquired long-range drones.

The Secretary of the Enugu Security Trust Fund, Mr Chinedu Anih, noted that the drones are equipped with both day and night-vision cameras, enabling 24-hour surveillance operations.
