A wave of anticipation and spiritual fervour has swept across Ogori Town and its environs, as the revered General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, prepares to visit the community for the much-anticipated Light Up Crusade 2025.

Slated for 29th and 30th May 2025 at the centrally located Ogori Civic Centre in Kogi State, the crusade—aptly themed “Light Up Ogori/Magongo Crusade”—marks a historic spiritual event for the Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area.
It is the first time, in recent times, a cleric of Pastor Adeboye’s global repute will be ministering in the area, a milestone generating excitement among both Christians and non-Christians alike.
“This is not just a programme; it is a divine visitation,” remarked an enthusiastic Pastor Mrs Eunice Isah. “It signifies that Ogoriland is not forgotten.”

The significance of the event extends beyond religious engagement. For the RCCG, the crusade represents a spiritual reconnection with its roots in Ogori, where the church first planted a parish in 1983—then known as Ogori Parish.

The location, a stone’s throw from the present-day Civic Centre, eventually became Overcomer’s Parish, a congregation that weathered spiritual drought before witnessing unprecedented growth in the late 1990s and 2000s.
The venue, Ogori Civic Centre, recently hosted the widely celebrated Ovia Osese Festival 2025 earlier in May, an event that drew attention from within and beyond Nigeria’s borders.
Now, it prepares to host what many are calling a “revival of light” for Ogoriland—both spiritually and communally.
The two-day crusade will feature powerful ministrations from notable clerics including Pastor Temitope Denki, Pastor Nathaniel Rotimi, Pastor PAT Akem-Vingir, and Minister Friday Olopade. Proceedings are scheduled to commence at 4:00 p.m. daily.
There’s also a promise of sumptuous palliative for attendees of the crusade.
Reflecting on the humble origins of the RCCG in Ogori, Pastor Enoch Idris Isah—currently Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province, Osun 5, Bethlehem, Ifewara—shared his memories with Stonix News.
He served as the second pastor of Overcomer’s Parish in 1994, following Pastor Kola Olalere who pioneered the church from 1983.
“The church started from Ileteju in 1983 and later moved to Anglican Primary School before we hurriedly built a ramshackle tent after a misunderstanding with the Anglican authorities,” Pastor Isah recounted. “We used wooden benches and planks for a makeshift structure. But God was faithful.”
Under Pastor Isah’s leadership, alongside the unwavering support of Deaconess Olufunmilayo Victoria Ogunmola, the once-struggling parish blossomed into a zonal headquarters by 2011, overseeing seven parishes—a feat that speaks to the resilience and spiritual tenacity of the local church community.
Today, the Overcomer’s Zonal Headquarters falls under Kogi Province 2, Glory Tabernacle, located in Isuen, along the Kabba road.
The upcoming crusade stands not only as a beacon of revival but as a recognition of the church’s long-standing presence and sacrifice in the area.
For the people of Ogori and Magongo, the arrival of Pastor Adeboye is more than ceremonial; it is a reaffirmation of divine purpose, a rekindling of faith, and a promise of light in times when hope is needed most.
As preparations intensify, the entire Ogoriland braces for a spiritual awakening—one that will echo through generations.
