Grandparents Of Missing Toddler Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder

By Micheal Chukwuebuka

THE grandparents of Émile Soleil, a 2-year-old French toddler who went missing in July 2023, have been arrested on suspicion of his murder, according to prosecutors.

Émile disappeared from his grandparents’ garden in Le Haut-Vernet, a small village in the French Alps.

Nine months after his disappearance, a hiker discovered Émile’s remains near the village, leading to a shocking turn in the investigation.

Four individuals, including Émile’s grandparents and two of their adult children, have been taken into police custody.

Émile’s grandfather, Philippe Vedovini, and his wife were arrested in La Bouilladisse on suspicion of “voluntary homicide” and “concealing a corpse”.

The case had captivated the nation, with widespread searches yielding no results.

Émile’s parents were absent on the day he vanished and had held onto hope for a miracle.

The investigation has been ongoing, with forensic teams combing through several areas in Le Vernet.

The prosecutor confirmed that forensic operations are still underway, with new developments expected as the investigation unfolds.
