Gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, have abducted the mother of the Chief of Staff to Kogi State governor, Mr Abdulkarim Jamiu Asuku at her residence in Adavi Local Government Area of the state.
A resident of Inese/Ovakere new layout in Nagazi community, Adavi LGA where Mrs Seriya Raji resided said that the gunmen stormed her resident at about 7:40 p.m on Monday shortly after she observed evening (Ishai) prayer in her mosque within the house.
This is coming few weeks after the Kogi State Commissioner for Environment, Adewale Omofaiye, narrowly escaped being kidnapped by gunmen.
The gunmen, who abducted Mrs Raji, were said to be about six, were masked and dressed in black suits.
They reportedly gained access to her room through the mosque beside her house.
Sources further said the masked men were holding Ghana-Must-Go bag believed to be containing some guns and other dangerous weapons.
It was gathered that after entering her house through the mosque, the gunmen whisked her away using their car to an unknown destination.
Family members were yet to be contacted as of the time of filing the report, just as no official statement has been issued on the incident.
