Help! Laptops Containing My PhD Thesis Are Gone – Lecturer Cries Out

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

WITH few days to defend his PhD thesis, suspected thieves on Wednesday broke into the house of a lecturer and stole his two laptops containing his long essay.

The incident occurred at House number 7A Olumo, Onke, Yaba Lagos, Nigeria.

The distraught lecturer, simply identified as Kenneth Ekezie, said the two laptops, HP products, were purchased last year, adding that his PhD thesis are contained in them.

This is coming few days to his viva exam, Ekezie, who didn’t disclose his institution, noted.

According to him, other items stolen from the house included a Techno phone, some N35000 cash and other valuables.

He said the incident happened between 10:00a.m and 3:00p.m when his wife and himself had gone on a visit.

With their master keys, the hoodlums gained access to the apartment, Mr Ekezie told Stonix News on Wednesday.

Stonix News reports that the burglary has been reported at the Sabo Police Station.

Although the DPO could not be reached, a female police officer, the lecturer disclosed, had taken his statement with a promise to get back to him.

Ekezie is, however, crying to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, who vowed to keep Lagos and Lagosians safe when he assumed office in February 2022, to use his good office to salvage his academic career by helping to retrieve his laptops containing his PhD thesis.
