Hoodlums set Shekarau's office ablaze in Kano

Torched Shekarau’s office

The All Progressives Congress (APC) office of Senator Ibrahim Shekarau in Kano has been torched by hoodlums suspected to be political thugs.

The senator was a two-term former governor of Kano State, Nigeria, and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Shekarau was also a former Nigerian Minister of Education and present sitting senator for the Kano Central district.

He’s been at loggerheads with the current governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje over the recent congresses of the party in the state.

The building, set ablaze by the hoodlums on Thursday morning,
is located along Kano/Maiduguri road.

It was gathered that the office was recently opened after Senator Shekarau parted ways with Governor Ganduje.

No official reaction has been released by Senator Shekarau’s political dynasty as of the time of filing the report.

Stonix News, however, recalled that Mr Shekarau led his colleagues from Kano in the National Assembly to hold a parallel congress, which was not recognised by the national leadership of the APC.
