A female Ijaw pop musician, Ikesima Brown, and six others of the Barrister Smooth Band have perished in a fatal motor accident.
The pop cum highlife music queen and six of her colleagues died when approaching Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.
The deceased were all members of the Barrister Smooth Music Band, which is one of the oldest highlife music bands in Ijaw land.
Sources said the band was hired and due to perform in a show in Abuja on Monday, Democracy Day before they were cut short.
The other deceased were identified as: Joseph Ekeremieye, Ebis Awiki, Tuku (keyboardist) and Dennis Abasa.
