Stonix News reports that the decorated retired officer of the Nigerian Navy has the likes of Michael Diden, also known as Ejele, and Thomas Joel-Onowakpo of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) respectively in the coming poll.

Nesiama, who described himself as a strategic thinker of global reckoning, while addressing a cross section of journalists with his team at the secretariat of the Warri Correspondent Chapel on Monday, said Nigeria was stagnated due to dearth of probity and strategic thinkers in governance.

He said efforts must be deliberately made by the electorate, in the coming elections, to vote in strategic thinkers as legislators with humane, fruitful and productive mindsets in order to change the narrative.

According to him, the legislative arm of government often appears less significant to the people in order of relevance, and so learned technocrats with strategic thinking and capacity are usually voted to represent the people.

This, he averred, must change as the quality of the executive arm of government is gauged by the quality of the legislative arm of government.

He, therefore, called for a paradigm shift, insisting that if he is voted to represent Delta South Senatorial District, he’ll influence strategic policies and programmes that’ll benefit the people.

Speaking further, #TheCommodoreofHope, as he’s fondly called in his political circle, said that the seeming despondency in the polity orchestrated by successive misgovernance of those who should ordinarily delve into other professions, would be discarded.

The Itsekiri-born youthful, but experienced officer, who’s been involved in building human capacity by mentoring and coaching young persons and adults of over 245 who are also in his payroll, said he has come to restore the hope of people.

“All hope of good governance is not lost. Successive administrations have failed us because of lack of strategic thinkers,” he affirmed.

The ECOMOG medalist with several other decorations in his kitty, dropped the synopsis of his

#thecommodoreofhope’s Main Agenda to include:

“✓Legislating to attract viable programmes / projects in the interest of the good people of Delta South Senatorial District.

✓Influencing appropriation of sizeable portion of constituency project funds for Human Capital Development.

✓Influencing legislation, re-legislation, and engagements around the PIA framework.

✓Encouraging Non-Governmental Organisations with focus on entrepreneurship to enhance community, youth and women development.

✓Influencing, promoting and encouraging tourism, sports development and mass participation events for improved welfare, youths engagements and other attendant benefits.

✓Encouraging business profiting from the locality to commit to Human Capital Development as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

✓Influencing and supporting legislation that would bring about enhanced dignity and reverence to our traditional institutions.

✓Continuously seeking for additional inputs from key stakeholders to enrich our blueprint for legislation in the interest of our people.”

Commodore Nesiama, who said work has already begun, urged the electorate in Delta South Senatorial District to join the Hope Restoration Movement “to carry the message of hope across the senatorial district, state and country,” in order to engender a new dawn.

It will be recalled that the the current Senator representing the Delta South Senatorial District, James Manger, whose tenure will expire next year, after occupying the seat for no fewer than five terms of 20 years, is no longer going for a re-election.
