I’m Not An Emperor, Gov’ship Seat Not My Family Inheritance – Ogun Gov

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, says he’s not an emperor in anyway neither is he occupying the governorship seat as an inheritance.

He made the remark in his social media handle on Friday in an ostensibly response to the claim by former governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu that he enthroned him (Abiodun) as governor in 2019.

The social media has been set on fire since Tinubu’s derogatorily referenced the Ogun State governor during his visit to Ogun to lobby party candidates as eleyi (‘this one’ in Yoruba) as if he’s inconsequential.

In the indirect remark that bore no name, Prince Abiodun said his position as governor was in trust for the people the state.

“I am not an emperor by any chance and this is not my family inheritance.

‘I am holding this position in trust for all the people of this state and have vowed to be fair, just and equitable and this is the solemn agreement made between the Almighty God and myself,” he averred.

Stonix News reports that Tinubu is a presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the party’s primary holding between June 6-8, 2023 in Abuja.
