JUST IN: Six Lagos Sports Journalists Kidnapped In Anambra Rescued

THE six journalists, who were kidnapped in Anambra while travelling to Uyo in Akwa Ibom State on Wednesday, have been rescued.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the operatives of the command, who rescued the six, were still working to rescue the seventh victim.

“Joint security forces have successfully rescued six members of the media crew who were abducted while travelling from Lagos to Uyo along Isseke-Orlu Road in Ihiala.

“Meanwhile, operations are still ongoing for the possible rescue of the seventh crew member,” the image-maker noted.

It is, however, not clear if the journalists were only seven in number as a source had earlier hinted that seven were rescued, while the whereabouts of four of them were yet to be ascertained.
