A suspected suicide bomber on Saturday detonated an improvised explosive at a wedding at Gwoza, a town in Borno State.
Several lives were reportedly feared lost to the bomb, including the couple.
Many others reportedly sustained injuries in the attack.
Details of the incident are still sketchy as of the time of filing the report.
Stonix News reports that suicide attacks were common in Borno during the peak of insurgency, with security forces battling to contain the orgy.
Quoting a security source, Daily Trust reports that it was not clear whether the incident was caused by a bomb blast or suicide bombers.
“We had twin blasts today; the first occurred around Hausari and the second around Mararaba area where people sell bicycles and items,” the source said.
Soldiers have reportedly taken over the streets of Gwoza.
