Kadiri Ikhana Now In Stable Condition, Requires Further Medical Care

VETERAN football coach and former international player Kadiri Ikhana (MON) is now in a stable condition, though he continues to require further medical attention.

The former Sharks FC and Kwara United FC manager, who was also a member of Nigeria’s victorious 1980 Africa Cup of Nations squad, was temporarily discharged from Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital in Edo State at 2:00 p.m. yesterday.

He remains under strict medical observation.

Ikhana’s improving condition is thanks in large part to the tireless efforts of his family and close associates, particularly his three sons and sister.

Prominent figures including Hon. Austin Braimoh, Chief Segun Odegbami (MON), and Chief Adokie Amiesimaka (MON), along with the Edo State Government, have also played key roles in supporting his recovery and keeping the public informed.

Updates concerning the next steps in Coach Ikhana’s treatment and care will be provided to the appropriate authorities in due course.

Speaking earlier today from Auchi, Prince Harrison Jalla, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), said: “Coach Ikhana, fondly known as ‘Kawawa’, is doing well. We continue to pray that God Almighty strengthens his life.”

Ikhana, widely respected for both his playing and managerial careers, remains a cherished figure in Nigerian football.
