Medical specialists at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) determined that the officer’s injuries were so severe that his right leg had to be amputated.

In a shocking attempt to evade justice, the trailer driver fled the scene, but was swiftly apprehended by security operatives from Ojodu Police Station and LASTMA officials.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, strongly condemned the incident, emphasizing that it could have been prevented if the driver had followed basic road safety protocols.
