Former Director of the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission and current Director of The Kenya School of Law, Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba, and President Mohammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Prof. Agboola Gambari, are set to deliver Commemorative and Founders Day lectures of the 30th anniversary and 14th convocation ceremony of the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Delta State, Nigeria.

Vice Chancellor of DELSU, Prof. Andy Egwunyenga, made the disclosure at a World Press Conference, held at the 750 A lecture Hall III of the Campus to announce the activities lined up for the 30th Anniversary and 14th convocation ceremony of the institution.
He said the lectures were part of the week-long activities that’ll culminate in the convocation of graduands and matriculation of new entrants for first and higher degrees into the institution.
Professor Lumumba, a much sought-after Pan-Africanist and speaker, will deliver his Commemorative Lecture on Thursday, April 29, Founders Day, 1:00p.m at the 1000 Lecture Theatre, Site III, Abraka.
President Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Gambari’s lecture holds on Wednesday, 10:00a.m at the 750A Lecture Hall, Site III, Abraka.
In his address, Prof Egwunyenga, said that DELSU will, on Saturday, confer on deserving students First Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas, Higher Degrees, Honorary Degrees and presentation of Prizes.
According to him, there’ll be posthumous investiture of former VC of DELSU, Professors Eric Arubayi and Sam Ukala as well as a conferment of honourary degrees on HRM Justice Francis Fedode Tabai and Chief Jim James Ovia on Saturday April 30 at the Convocation Arena.
The week-long event, which started on Friday April 22, will also end on Saturday April 30, 2022 with inauguration of projects.
The projects include Faculty of Pharmacy Complex, Access Link Roads to Faculty of Pharmacy, Animal House and Faculty of Science, Faculty of Arts Complex, Department of Nursing Science Extension, Educational Technology Building.
Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, is also expected to perform the foundation laying ceremony of the Faculty of Management Sciences Complex on the final day.
