THE Commissioner of Police, Delta State, CP Wale Abass, has presented the N33.2m in cheques to the families of officers who died during active duty.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP. Bright Edafe, in a statement made available to Stonix News, said the total amount contained in the cheque was N33,275,840 for the families.
The statement affirmed that the cheques, issued on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, were parts of the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes.
While presenting the money, CP Abas said that will in a long way boost the family by letting them know that the force did not forget the sacrifices of their kin.
In appreciation, one of the beneficiaries appreciated the Inspector General of Police for the gesture shown to them and assured them that the money will be spent judiciously.
“On 9/6/2023, the Commissioner of Police Delta State Command, CP Wale Abass psc, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police IGP Alkali Baba Usman, PSC+, FDC, NPM, NEAPS, CFR presented cheques of Thirty-Three Million, Two Hundred and Seventy-Five Thousand, Eight Hundred And Forty Naira (#33,275,840) to families of deceased officers who died in the line of duty.
“The cheques issued on behalf of the IGP are parts of the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes.
“The CP while presenting the cheques appreciated the gesture by the IGP as the cheques will in no small way act as a boost to the families and also a way of letting them know that though their loved ones are no more, the force did not forget their sacrifices.
“One of the beneficiaries in her remark on behalf of other beneficiaries appreciated the Inspector General of Police for the gesture shown to them and assured that the money will be spent judiciously,” the statement read.
