LAST week was my Department’s Week, and one of the activities of the week was a visit to the National Museum of Unity at Aleshinloye, Ibadan. I went to the museum with my students.

Mrs Kishag
After the traditional procedure, a tour guide was assigned to our group. Our tour guide was a beautiful woman, Mrs Kishag.
The tour started and I was enthralled by the guide’s charm. She recounted the history and the significance of the artifacts. You would think she was there when those historical activities happened.

As we moved from one section to the other, she exuded charisma and intelligence. For more than one hour, she took us round different sections of the Museum and told us the stories behind every object we came across.
At some point, a woman volunteered to take over from her so she could rest, but she told the woman she was not tired. She said she was enjoying every bit of the task. It was obvious she loves what she does, and I must confess, she’s good at it.

Students during the tour
At the end of the tour, I could not help but commend her brilliance.
I was also curious; I wanted to know the course she studied at the university. I was shocked when she told us she studied English and Literature Education. Really? I thought she studied History or something related. My admiration for her increased. I love brilliant people.
