NIGER Delta-born human and environmental rights activist, Comrade Mulade Sheriff, has urged all sons and daughters of riverine communities in the Delta State to provide maximum support and cooperation to those championing human and infrastructural development of the areas.

Tompolo
He specifically commended Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), Engr Mathew Tonlagha, Managing Director of Maton Oil and Gas Services Ltd, Engr Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Limited, and others for their efforts in developing riverine communities in Delta State.
The peace and development advocate from Delta State commended the distinguished sons of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area for their infrastructural revolution initiatives and human empowerment efforts across coastal communities.
He recognised the initiatives as part of their corporate social responsibilities to the region.
Chief Mulade, who is also a United Nations Peace Ambassador and the Ibe-Serimowei of the Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, highlighted the importance of expanding development infrastructure in coastal areas to drive economic growth, while Tantita continues its surveillance operations in the region.
Mulade remarked, “It is vital to state that the coastal communities, which are the backbone of the nation’s economy, have been completely neglected by both federal and state governments despite their immense contributions.
“These areas have suffered significant environmental degradation, including oil and gas pollution and marine erosion, which have washed away many communities, leading to the loss of traditional fishing and farming rights.
“I sincerely commend Tompolo, Engr Mathew Tonlagha, and Engr Kestin Pondi for their commitment to the development of riverine communities through infrastructural revolution and human empowerment.
“I also take this opportunity to thank them for rehabilitating our environment, which was once heavily degraded, through the Tantita Security Surveillance Contracts.
“Your efforts in preserving the Niger Delta environment are critical for the region and future generations,” he added.
In conclusion, Sheriff appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR to sustain the Tantita security surveillance contracts, emphasising their importance in boosting the nation’s oil production and maintaining peace in the Niger Delta.
