Firefighters and rescue officials from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) reached the scene on time, as no casualty was recorded.
“It was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely, but overshot the runway. There was no casualty,” a spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Carol Adekotujo, was quoted as saying.
A spokesman for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, Tunji Oketunmbi, has yet to officially respond to the incident.
Stonix News recall that in November 2023, the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, escaped death by the whiskers when a plane he was on board crashed at the same airport.
