Okowa Is Judas Iscariot, Betrayed Southern Nigeria – Omo-Agege

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

THE Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, on Saturday, described Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta State, as Judas Iscariot of southern Nigeria.

Sen. Omo-Agege made the description at the kick-off of the Presidential/Governorship campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at the Warri Township Stadium.

The APC governorhip candidate in Delta State told the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that the people of Delta State are hospitable and not tolerant of treachery.

“We don’t tolerate traitors. We don’t like treachery and we don’t like traitors,” he affirmed.

Omo-Agege’s allusion to one of the tragic disciples of Jesus Christ stemmed from Okowa’s backtracking from an agreement reached at his backyard in Asaba by governors from southern Nigeria asking for a deserved power shift from the north to the south after the end of the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Alluding to Judas Iscariot as the traitor among the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ, who did not end well, the Obarisi of Urhobo land avowed that Okowa has put his hands on an “ill-fated” adventure to become Vice President under another northerner.

According to him, unlike the biblical tragic figure, Governor Okowa has, since his treachery, refused to commit ‘political suicide,’ but urged him to step down, forthwith, from the treacherous joint-ticket with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the PDP.

Sen. Omo-Agege described Delta State under the PDP for 23 years as being plunged in a state of despair and dysfunction.

He said the state, which is supposed to be one of the richest states in Nigeria, nay the Niger Delta, with its natural endowment especially with the federation account and13 per cent derivation and others, has been impoverished.

The maverick senator pointed out that Warri has become the headquarters of keke (tricycle) capital in Delta State.

He stressed that the people are suffering in the midst of plenty and they want the narrative to change.

Sen. Omo-Agege pointed out that Governor Okowa keeps taking loans, averring that “Delta is the most indebted state of all the states in the federation because of Okowa’s recklessness.”

He also accused the governor of grooming and empowering a stooge as his successor in order to perpetuate himself in power, calling on Deltans to reject him and his stooge.

Meanwhile, the Delta APC governorship candidate, Senator Omo-Agege, has vowed that a vote for the APC candidates in the coming alections will usher in the much-needed development in the state.

According to him, “the Warri Port and Koko Ports will be reactivated. When he becomes president, with me as governor, I will go back to him to take a review of the privatisation Delta Steel Company, Aladja and full implementation of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko

“I am also commiting to you that the Export Processing Zone (EPZ), Ogidigben will come back to reality.

“I want to appeal to all Deltans, we have our chance to get free of the tyranny of Delta state.

“Today, we are blessed by an opponent whose credentials are being debated. The current governor wants to market education as a scam.

“We now have a chance to come out , go to our units and vote out the tyranny of PDP.”
