Operatives of Delta State Police Command have killed and arrested suspected kidnappers and criminal and recovered ammunition, pistol, cartridges and wraps of suspected cocaine, heroin in the state.
This was contained in a Press Release signed by Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Edafe Bright and made available to Stonix News on Monday, June 6, 2022.
DSP Edafe affirmed that five suspected kidnappers in an attempt to rob and kidnap, attacked and shot at Rapid Response Squad who were on undercover patrol in a space bus along Asaba-Benin Expressway on Sunday.
The armed men, realizing that the occupants of the bus were policemen, took to their heels but were chased and overpowered by the operatives with three of them sustaining injuries.
Three of the injured suspects later died while receiving treatment in the hospital and one fabricated revolver pistol, six {06} 7.62mm live ammunition, four {04} expended 7.62mm ammunition were recovered from them according to DSP Edafe.
DSP Edafe also added that Operatives of Eagle-Net Special Squad searched a commercial vehicle and recovered 4,054 wraps of substance suspected to be Cocaine, 954 wraps of heroines belonging to one of the passengers, Edea Samuel ‘m’ 20yrs along Asaba Ogwashi-Uku expressway at about 4:00pm same day.
In the same vein, the arrest of one Suleiman Musa, 48yrs a criminal suspect was made and 540 rounds of live cartridges, three Elepac Generators, one solar light, a singer sewing machine, two television sets and one Lifan motorcycle were reclaimed from him by the Command’s Anti-Cult Unit on Friday.
