ABUJA – The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has once again demonstrated its athletic superiority by clinching the top spot at the 6th edition of the One Service One Medal (OSOM) Games, held in Abuja from 23 to 29 April 2025.

With a commanding tally of 42 Gold, 38 Silver, and 34 Bronze medals, the NPF emerged as the overall champions among 12 competing security agencies across 15 sporting disciplines.
Force Director of Sports, Deputy Commissioner of Police Osifo T. Emefile, led the NPF team to victory, while standout swimmer Corporal Oka Dorcas Eworo stole the spotlight. Eworo, who won an astonishing nine Gold and one Silver medal, was deservedly named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Games.

Describing the victory as a proud moment for the Force, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, praised the team’s performance and reaffirmed the NPF’s dedication to sports development.
“Our athletes have shown extraordinary dedication and talent. The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to nurturing sporting excellence and honouring the legacy of legends like DCP (Rtd) Chioma Ajunwa-Okpara and the late SP Sunday Bada,” the IGP stated.

The OSOM Games, spearheaded by the National Sports Commission, seek to elevate Nigeria’s Olympic ambitions by promoting competitiveness among the country’s security services while fostering unity and discipline.

The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, mnipr, mipra, fCAI, added, “The outstanding performance of our athletes at the OSOM Games is not only a testament to their hard work but also to the unwavering support of the Force leadership for sports and physical excellence.”
The 6th OSOM Games has been hailed as a resounding success, marking a new era of inter-agency sportsmanship and excellence.
