He added by appealing to Deltans and all APC faithful in the country to continue to pray for the president because according to him, “where Asiwaju Ahmed succeeds, we also succeed and when it is good for him, it is also good for us.”

Hear him: “I know some people are not very happy because of the situation after the elections. We gave our very best here in Delta State. We championed and fought for the aspirations of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We took his message to every nook and cranny of Delta State.

Senator Peter Nwaoboshi addressing the crowd

“I want to appeal to some of you who have not received your recompense; please be patient. I am confident that the president remembers everybody. But one thing is clear, the president has not disappointed us.

“When we went about championing him and fighting for his emergence, we knew what his track record was as the governor of Lagos State. We are a case that we wanted what he did in Lagos State to be replicated across Nigeria.

“When he started, we all saw the turbulence, we saw the economic downturn, and the dollar spiralling out of control. But the Asiwaju that we all know has stepped forward and things are now taking shape gradually. This is just the beginning.

“So let us continue to pray for him. Where Asiwaju Ahmed succeeds, we also succeed. When it is good for him, it is also good for us. So let’s continue to pray for him, and also continue for him.

“He has a mandate, some say it’s four years but we believe that it is a mandate of eight years and we know in that eight years, he is going to turn everything around in the country.”

Furthermore, he said that though APC may have lost Delta State in the 2023 elections, he urged Deltans to be patient as the party will get back the state in 2027.

“So I want to appeal to us to be patient because your turn will also come. APC may have lost Delta in 2023 but in 2027 APC will get back Delta State.

“So I want to thank you and urge you to please work with the party at the local government level and work and support the party at the state and national levels.”

Speaking at the event, senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone eulogised Omo-Agege for being a man for all Deltans while asserting that Omo-Agege won the 2023 governorship elections.

“I have to say today that I am not just proud but honoured to be here, to be chairman of this event to celebrate our DSP and to welcome him home. He has done us proud as a legislator and as a leader and I believe, that alone, is worth celebrating. Two years ago, he threw himself into the ring to contest for the position of the governorship of Delta state under our great party.

“I was a member of the opposition some 15 years ago and I have to say that our leader fought the most organized, structured and the most successful organic campaign in this state to remove the PDP from office. Many of us still believe very strongly that we won that election.

“As law-abiding Nigerians, we have listened to the verdict of the court and we stand by that verdict but that does not detract from the performance of our leader in the elections and this is our way of saying, welcome home sir; you have done us proud. We may not have been victorious but you know, we know that Delta State was strongly behind you,” he asserted.
