FOLLOWING their 2 goals to nil victory over Bayen Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League, FC Porto defender and Nigeria International, Zaidu Sanusi Maru expressed his excitement after coming off the bench to score the first goal for his side.
The Super Eagles’ star, who replaced a Brazilian defender, Wendell, in the 63rd minute of the game, scored an opener after just 6 minutes on the pitch which helped the Portuguese champions secure all maximum points needed, and are now second position on the Group B UCL table.
During an interview after the game, Zaidu said;
“It was good for us, three points for our club and our fans.
The goal? Our coach always asked for it from the full backs.
I have to do it and I’m used to it.
This victory is very important for us and our path,” he said.
