Super Eagles Win 2025 Unity Cup In Dramatic Penalty Shootout Against Jamaica

The Super Eagles clinched the 2025 Unity Cup title tonight, edging out Jamaica 5-4 in a penalty shootout after a thrilling 2-2 draw in regulation time.

Chrisantus Uche, making his debut, sealed the victory for Nigeria by converting the decisive penalty, following successful attempts by Kelechi Iheanacho, Tolu Arokodare, Bruno Ontemaechi, and Moses Simon.

Nigeria struck early, taking the lead in the ninth minute when captain Moses Simon capped off a slick move initiated by Cyriel Dessers.

Jamaica, however, responded swiftly, leveling the score just two minutes later.

In the 53rd minute, Samuel Chukwueze restored Nigeria’s lead, but the Reggae Boyz equalized once more in the 64th minute.

With no further goals scored in regulation time, the championship was ultimately settled through penalties.
