WHEN I was in secondary school, there was a healthy competition among a group of students in the class.

Any time test or exam scripts were distributed, each student would go around asking their ‘competitors’ what they had scored in certain subjects.
We always made sure to find out who had achieved the highest score in each subject. It was always a moment of challenge among the ‘competitors’.
Nobody bothered about my scores in Mathematics, but in Government, Literature, and English, we called the shots. All the ‘competitors’ would ask for my scores in those three subjects, and I would also be dashing around the class asking for theirs.
Although we were in the senior secondary class, we did all of this with the innocence of childhood — pure innocence, no shady intent, just healthy competition.
The sky, they say, is big enough for all of us. We can all thrive and soar without rivalry.
Your colleague is not your enemy; your classmate is not your rival. When we all shine, the world becomes a better place.
