TIMELY INTERVENTION: RRS Rescues Elderly Woman From Suicide Attempt On Carter Bridge

AN elderly woman was rescued from a suicide attempt on Carter Bridge, Lagos, earlier today, thanks to the swift response of operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on patrol.

The incident occurred at about 12:20 p.m. when the RRS officers spotted the woman attempting to jump into the lagoon.

The officers quickly intervened and prevented the tragedy.

She was immediately taken to the RRS Headquarters, where the Commander, CSP Shola Jejeloye, gave her a listening ear as she narrated the personal circumstances that led to her action.

Afterward, CSP Jejeloye facilitated a private meeting between the woman, her husband, and their 30-year-old son to help them address and resolve their differences.

Following the emotional family dialogue, CSP Jejeloye provided the woman with extensive counselling and a cash gift to support her.

The family expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Commander and the squad for the timely intervention, compassionate advice, and generous support.

The woman has, since, been released into the care of her husband and son.
