Two Chinese, Police Officer Killed In Abia Attack

A tragic incident occurred in Abia State when unidentified gunmen ambushed a group of Chinese expatriates and their police escorts en route to their company site in Agukwu-Amaya, Ndundu Community, Uturu.

The Abia State Police Command, in collaboration with the military and other security agencies, launched a rescue operation.

Casualties and Rescue Efforts

During the attack, three individuals lost their lives: Mr. Quan, a company manager, his colleague Mr. Cai, and Inspector Audu Saidu, one of the police escort officers. The assailants also stole Inspector Saidu’s rifle.

Despite the attack, four Chinese nationals and two police officers were successfully rescued.

One expatriate sustained injuries, and Inspector Uba Ahmed was shot in the leg; both are receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre in Abakaliki.

Investigation and Response

The police spokesperson, DSP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the incident and assured that those responsible would face justice.

The state Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, condemned the attack and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.

Additional security operatives visited the crime scene as part of ongoing investigations and search efforts.
