THE world has gone digital; Artificial Intelligence (AI) has come to our world and we cannot deny it.
This week, I attended the 5th Biennial Conference organised by the Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan. The theme of the conference was ‘The New Humanities and Humanistic Studies’.

Participants at the conference
Basically, the conference focused on how scholars in Humanities can use Artificial intelligence to drive their profession so as to remain relevant in the current digitised world.
Although the conference which lasted for four days was somehow taxing and stressful, I enjoyed every part of the programme. All the sessions were quite engaging and educative.
For me as a teacher, my focus is to key into the opportunities that Artificial Intelligence has provided to equip myself, make my work easier, improve my productivity and be more relevant at the local and the international levels. I am not limited.

In whatever profession you are, even as a student, do not shy away from Artificial Intelligence. Use it to drive your goals and your dream.
The caution is, do not allow AI to drive you; be in charge. Do not allow AI to take over your reasoning capacity; you are much more intelligent than AI.
Human Intelligence supersedes Artificial Intelligence. In fact, AI feeds on Human Intelligence. So, be the lord over AI; do not allow it to be your lord. You are much more superior; In fact, there is no basis for comparison.
Are you afraid that AI will take over your job? It will surely do if you refuse to equip yourself and step up your game. But for those that know their games, AI can never take over their duties.
In this digitised world, you must equip yourself daily. Move with the digital trend.
If you are left behind, you cease to be relevant.
To be relevant, learn more.
To be relevant, step up.
To be relevant, take charge.
