A 39-year-old father has been arrested for impregnating his 13-year-old daughter, saying he thought he was having s3x with his wife during the act.
The man, identified as Mfon Jeremiah, is a resident of FIRRO Estate off Adesan, Mowe, Ogun State.
The suspect was arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command, following a report lodged at Mowe Divisional headquarters by the mother of the victim.
The estranged mother said that she had discovered that her daughter was pregnant, and when she inquired, the daughter informed her that her father was responsible.
The victim was taken to the hospital where it was confirmed that she was four-month old pregnant.
Upon the report, the DPO Mowe Division, SP Folake Afeniforo, reportedly got the suspect arrested.
The suspect, on interrogation according to the police, confessed being responsible for his daughter’s pregnancy.
He, however, reportedly claimed to be under spell when he committed the act.
According to the police, Mfon informed the police that he saw himself in a dream having s3x with his estranged wife only to discover that it was her daughter under his weight.
Meanwhile, spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspect be transferred to Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour unit of the state Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and prosecution.
