Adulterated Fuel: Apologise Or Resign Now, CAN Tells Minister Of Petroleum

Ola Kiya, Reporting

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna State chapter, on Tuesday, asked the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources to either apologise to Nigerians or honourably resign over the recent scandal of adulterated fuel and scarcity across the country.

Stonix News reports that Nigeria President, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) doubles as the Minister of Petroleum Resources and Timipre Sylva, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources.

Vice-Chairman, CAN Northern States, Rev. John Joseph Hayab,
in a statement, on Tuesday, did not clarify in his statement who should apologize or resign as posited.

He said Nigerians should not continue to suffer due to the negligence and incompetence of some privileged few holding public offices.

Rev. Hayab said CAN was worried over the situation and would want to know who was actually responsible for the bad product and the scarcity of fuel.

He lamented the continual scarcity of fuel in Nigeria and the pains of having adulterated fuel in circulation.

This, he averred, have further increased the hardship Nigerians are going through for about close to a month.

“We’re compelled to ask our Minister of State for Petroleum, what he and the ministry have done to avert and remedy this situation,” he posited.

He described Nigerians as the most patient people on earth because they have been enduring bad governance and poor service delivery which have led to avoidable deaths of many family members, friends, and associates.

He wondered why in spite of the horrendous maladministration, insecurity, poverty and, now, fuel crisis, nobody has ever been held responsible and accountable for all the pains, sufferings and poor services Nigerians are being perpetually subjected to.
