Delta State Activist Pledges ‘Purpose-Driven’ Representation if Elected to National Assembly in 2027

Rita Enemuru, Reporting

WARRI – A prominent Delta State-born environmental rights activist and development advocate, Chief Mulade Sheriff PhD, has declared his intention to run for the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the National Assembly come the 2027 general election.

Chief Mulade, who holds the traditional title of Ibe-Serimowei of the oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom, made the pledge in a press release issued on Tuesday.

He appealed directly to constituents to make what he called a “wise choice” at the polls.

“I am appealing to electorates in the Warri Federal Constituency to make a wise choice in the 2027 general election by voting for me,” he said. “I am your own, and I want to pledge a purposeful-driven, united, people-oriented, all-inclusive representation focused on economic empowerment, employment, skill acquisition, and accessible, reliable, and dependable leadership, if voted into office.”

The activist, who also serves as a United Nations Peace Ambassador, used the opportunity to call for a more dignified approach to politicking.

He urged fellow politicians to show decorum and focus on issue-based campaigns, warning against the use of calumny and hate speech.

“After the election, the people remain as one indivisible people,” he stressed.

Outlining his priorities, Chief Mulade said his tenure would critically look at the empowerment of youths, women, and the elderly, describing them as the most vulnerable groups in society.

He reaffirmed his commitment to bringing improved and sustainable development to his constituency, promising to be a lawmaker who remains accessible and dependable to all.

The 2027 race for Warri Federal Constituency is expected to draw significant interest, but Chief Mulade’s entry adds a strong advocacy voice rooted in environmental rights and grassroots development.
