Stonix News had reported on Thursday that from video footages sighted online, the maskless daredevils stuffed the booth of a red Toyota corolla car with sacks of cash bloodilly looted from four banks.

Dynamites and other explosives were reportedly deployed to gain entry into the banks in broad daylight.

Information scooped by Stonix News from an online tv, Esan TV on Friday evening, however, revealed that the fleeing robbers were intercepted at Ubiaja community.

Ubiaja is just 10 minutes drive from Uromi where the bloody incident took place on Thursday.

Narrating the development, the online TV narrated on its Facebook page thus:

“Ubiaja is a neighbouring town to Uromi, just about 10mins drive. After the bank robbery yesterday in Uromi, the robbers took the Ubiaja route in a bid to escape.

“But Ubiaja youths, on knowing this, mobilised and moved to block their road by the rail line.

“Seeing the road had been blocked, the robbers left their vehicles loaded with the stolen cash off the rail line.

“They fled using motorcycles. One of them was caught.”

The online channel further disclosed that “the vehicles and cash have been recovered and counting still ongoing at the Ubiaja police station.”

The Edo State Police Command is yet to react to the development.
