A slay babe, identified as Miracle Esse Enondano, has been reprimanded in the Kirikiri Correctional Center for alleged fraud to the tune of N43.5m.
Miracle was arraigned before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
She was charged along side SGMX Resources Ltd and Mr. Ben Enodano with an eight-count charge on theft for defrauding one Mr. Adedoyin Akeem Balogun of N15 million on January 5, 2021.
According to the charge, the money was on the pretext of executing a Segregated Trading Contract Agreement to be managed by a broker, Hot Markets Nigeria Limited, as investment.
Miss Miracle agreed to remit 60 per cent of the total investment returns to Akeem Balogun after six months which she never did.
In another count, Miss Miracle and her accomplice, SGMX Resources Ltd and Mr. Ben Enodano had earlier defrauded Akeem Balogun of N14.5m on November 24, 2018.
The money, according to the charge, was paid into Miracle Enodano’s Access Bank account as investment into Bitcoin Mining Server Machines, on the agreement that the machine would be generating $1000 per day as profit of the total investment.
The second count reads: “Miss Miracle Esse Enondano, SGMX Resources Limited and Mr. Ben Enodano (now at large) on or about 24th November 2018 in Lagos within the Ikeja Judicial Division of this Honourable Court with intent to defraud, induced Mr. Adedoyin Akeem Balogun to pay the sum of N14,500,000 into Esse Miracle Enodano’s Access Bank account as investment into Bitcoin Mining Server Machines, on the understanding that the Bitcoin Server can generate $1000 per day, as profit of the total investment, which pretence you knew was false.”
She however pleaded not guilty to the charges with her Defence counsel, Abiodun Adepoju moving a bail on liberal terms application for her.
The prosecution opposed the bail in its counter-affidavit, praying the court to instead, grant accelerated hearing.
After listening to the arguments, Justice Taiwo granted Enondano bail in the sum of N10 million with two sureties in like sum, one of whom must be a close relation.
She was remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Center pending the perfection of her bail conditions while the case was adjourned till September 13, 2022 for trial.
