Adeboye Laments Much Sufferings In Nigeria

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

IN an intense prayerful mode, on Sunday morning, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, lamented the level of sufferings in Nigeria.

Speaking on the topic: In My Father’s House, the octogenarian prayed God to turn the tide before the end of 2022.

“There are a lot of sufferings in Nigeria. Father put an end to all sufferings in Nigeria before the new year,” he prayed with the congregation at the RCCG National Headquarters, Throne of Grace, Ebute-Meta, Lagos.

Earlier last week, the Ifewara-born cleric had led RCCG members globally on a seven-day prayer and fasting culminating in last Friday’s gathering at the Redemption City for the grand finale filled with prayers of intercession for individuals, families, the church and crawling Nigeria.

Stonix News reports that Federal Government of Nigeria, through the National Bureau of Statistics, last Thursday, said 130 million Nigerians are poor.

In its 2022 Multidimensional Poverty Index Survey released in Abuja, the NBS said the figure represented 63 per cent of the nation’s population.

It added that the poverty index is mostly experienced in rural areas especially in the north with women and children being the most affected.

The survey was conducted by the NBS, the National Social Safety-Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI).
