THE Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr Dennis Brutu Otuaro, has extended his commendation to governors across the South-South region following the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward and state congresses.
In a statement released at the weekend, Dr Otuaro praised what he described as the pragmatic efforts of governors Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Douye Diri (Bayelsa), Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Bassey Otu (Cross River), and Monday Okpebholo (Edo).
He noted that their leadership facilitated the successful election of new ward executives and State Working Committees (SWCs) across the six states.
The PAP boss also extended his congratulations to the newly elected party chairmen in the zone, including Solomon Arenyeka (Delta), Warman Ogoriba (Rivers), Tony Okocha (Akwa Ibom), Stephen Ntukekpo (Cross River), Chris Etta (Cross River), and Jarret Tenebe (Edo), alongside other members of the newly constituted SWCs.
According to Dr Otuaro, the state chief executives demonstrated astute leadership, while delegates exhibited discipline and resilience, ensuring a transparent transition process that yielded outcomes acceptable to all APC stakeholders in the region.
He further applauded the adoption of the affirmation process during the congresses, noting that the exercise was largely consensus-driven and conducted in full compliance with the party’s constitution and guidelines.
Dr Otuaro attributed the smooth conclusion of the internal party elections to the democratic leadership and vision of President Bola Tinubu, as well as the unwavering commitment of the party’s national secretariat to fostering internal democracy, inclusion, and unity of purpose.
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, the PAP administrator expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated ward and state working committees have positioned the South-South zone as a solid structure capable of securing a decisive victory for President Tinubu and the APC.
He voiced strong optimism that the President would continue to deliver the dividends of democracy across the country through his Renewed Hope Agenda, adding that the bold reforms of the current administration would be consolidated for greater national impact and shared prosperity, particularly with the President’s return to office next year.
