Muhammed Abubakar, Reporting
PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given the green light for the posting of 65 ambassadors-designate to various countries and permanent missions, following their confirmation by the Senate in December.
The list, released on Friday by the State House, comprises 34 non-career ambassadors and 31 career diplomats, who will now proceed to their respective duty posts across the globe.

Reno Omokri and President Bola Tinubu
Among the prominent figures named in the non-career list are former presidential aide Mr Reno Omokri, who is posted to Mexico City; Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, who will serve in Germany; and Mr Lateef Kayode Are, assigned to the United States.
Other notable appointees include Senator Grace Bent (Lome, Togo), Senator Ita Enang (South Africa), former Governor of Abia State, Victor Okezie Ikpeazu (Spain), and former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (The Philippines).
The non-career list also features Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (Beijing, China), Senator Jimoh Ibrahim (UN Permanent Representative), and Rt. Hon. Jerry Samuel Manwe (Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago).
On the career list, envoys have been assigned to key diplomatic posts, including Amb. Mohammed Mahmud Lele (Algiers, Algeria), Amb. Jane Adams Michael (Kingston, Jamaica), and Amb. Sulu Gambari Olatunji Ahmed (Malaysia).
According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already received agrément from the United Kingdom for the High Commissioner-designate, Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu. Similarly, France has granted agrément for Ambassador Ayodele Oke.
The Ministry has also conveyed the nominations of the other 62 designated envoys to all concerned countries, requesting their agréments in line with standard diplomatic practice.

Omokri, FFK and others
President Tinubu has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately commence an induction programme for the ambassadors-designate and high commissioners ahead of their departure.
The postings are expected to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic missions worldwide and advance the country’s foreign policy objectives under the current administration.
