THE Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayirimi Emami, on Wednesday evening, stormed the streets of Warri, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, soliciting votes for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
The APC chieftain accused Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State of killing street life, urging the electorate to vote for Omo-Agege to restore street life in Warri.
In what looked like a road-show, Emami, in a roofless sports car leading a convoy of APC-branded buses, aroused waffarians when he stormed Ginuwa streets at about 5:30p.m, via Warri-Sapele road, with youths chanting “Ayirimi” “Omo-Agege” and so on.
In his characteristics manner, he stopped over at Akandeji junction, dashed out of his topless car into a restaurant amid a swarm of youths chanting and hailing him.
Our correspondent, who caught up with him as he returned to his car in continuation of his show, urged him to explain why he’s in the streets in a cool Wednesday evening.
Armed with a bottle of sprite drink, he belched: “O boy na streets naim get votes o. Naim make me come streets. So, to make the streets lively, to continue because Okowa don kill the town, to make the town wake up, again, make dem press am give Agege.
“I came to inform my constituency that I’m around and they need to go and vote for APC’s Ovie Omo-Agege on Saturday. That’s why I’m here.”
