THE Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has announced plans for its eagerly awaited 2025 Press Week, scheduled to take place from Sunday, 16 November to Sunday, 23 November 2025, in Asaba.

This year’s celebration, themed “Tax Regimes and Exchange Rate Unification: Economic Implications and the Media’s Strategic Role,” promises a week of insightful discussions, professional reflection, and recognition of excellence in journalism.
According to a statement issued by the Planning Committee and endorsed by Comrades Pere Botu and Barth Ozah, Chairman and Secretary respectively, the programme of activities includes thanksgiving services, visits to media organisations, a sensitisation walk, medical and social outreaches, a novelty football match, and the grand Opening Ceremony, Lecture, and Awards slated for 20 November 2025 at Orchid Hotels, Asaba, commencing at 11:00 a.m.

Distinguished Senator Joel Onowakpor Thomas, representing Delta South Senatorial District, will deliver the keynote address, while Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, will attend as Special Guest of Honour.

The Chairman of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service (DSIRS), Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, will serve as one of the discussants.
The NUJ National President, Comrade Alhassan Yahya, will act as Chief Host, with Comrade Churchill Oyowe, Chairman of the NUJ Delta State Council, as Host.
The Delta NUJ Council noted that the 2025 Press Week is designed to foster meaningful dialogue, promote socio-economic progress, and celebrate the media’s enduring influence in building a more informed and equitable society.
