THE Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has, successfully, recovered a stolen Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep within 30 minutes of the incident, following a swift and coordinated operation.
This was disclosed in a statement by SP Josephine Adeh,
Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Police Command, Abuja, on Friday.
She said vehicle, which was snatched at gunpoint in Garki on Thursday April 23, 2025, belonged to one Alhaji Nasiru Aminu.
At approximately 8:35 PM, five armed men intercepted the vehicle, firing shots into the air to disperse bystanders before fleeing the scene in the stolen car.

The incident was immediately reported, prompting the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) to alert the Command’s Control Room, which initiated a rapid response.
The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) was deployed, and all stop-and-search units were placed on high alert.
With quick coordination, including the efforts of CSP Altine Daniel, DPO Maitama, and the Police Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU), the stolen vehicle was tracked in real-time.
Acting on intelligence, police operatives cornered the suspects, who abandoned the vehicle under Banex Bridge in an attempt to flee in a pre-arranged getaway car.
By 9:00 PM, just 30 minutes after the initial distress call, the vehicle was recovered, and a search revealed 9mm ammunition inside.

The rightful owner has been contacted, and the vehicle will soon be returned.
Investigations indicate that the suspects are believed to be part of a notorious criminal syndicate known for car-snatching and armed robberies across the Wuse and Maitama areas.
The group has long been under the police’s radar, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
