JAMIU Bashola, a Civil Engineering graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has been reportedly detained after seeking verification of his JAMB result and admission status.
As an orphan, Jamiu’s academic journey was marked by dedication and perseverance.
He was admitted to FUTA in 2018 after passing the 2017 UTME and Post-UTME, and went on to graduate with a remarkable CGPA of 4.41 after seven years of hard work.

However, his academic credentials are now under scrutiny.
According to a viral social media post, Jamiu’s attempt to validate his records with JAMB led to his detention by law enforcement agents.
Despite having all necessary documents, JAMB allegedly claimed his admission was “fake”, effectively barring him from participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or securing employment.
His friend wrote:
“JAMB, DSS & NPF detained my friend because he asked them to validate his JAMB result and admission. He didn’t cheat the system. He worked for everything. For 7 years, Jamiu struggled through school like many of us, particularly as an orphan.

“Now his hopes are dashed. After seven long years of sleepless nights and burning midnight candles. @JAMBHQ says his admission is fake. Now he can’t go for his youth service. He can’t apply for jobs.
“He’s stuck. A degree he earned through blood and sweat is being treated like it never happened. We know Jamiu. We saw him every day for 7 years. We are witnesses to his journey.
“This is unfair. This is heartbreaking. We are speaking now because Jamiu deserves better. He deserves to be heard. He deserves justice.”
